Jackie McGuire is an entrepreneur, data scientist, former financial advisor, and mother of three, running for Marana Town Council to restore transparent, ethical, and financially responsible governance. Her campaign is centered on the conviction that local politics are where real change happens.

Unlike politicians who only take a stance, Jackie has a proven record of taking action. She was one of the Marana residents who led the referendum effort, collecting nearly 3,000 signatures to put the controversial Data Center project on the ballot, and when the Town threw those petitions out on a technicality, disenfranchising residents, was the lead plaintiff in the recent lawsuit to force accountability and fight for residents’ right to vote on important issues.

McGuire’s platform is built on issues that unite Marana’s diverse community: fighting corruption and "backroom dealing," investing in local small businesses for responsible economic growth, increasing access to education and training programs, and protecting individual liberty by opposing unchecked government surveillance. She is deeply committed to ensuring resident voices are heard, establishing citizen committees to tap into local expertise, fixing Marana’s roads and infrastructure, and securing Marana’s future by keeping predatory development out. I bought my first home in Marana 15 years ago and felt an instant connection to the desert. This is where I am raising my children and where I’ve built my life.

Marana is a beautiful community and an ideal place to raise a family, start a business, or just enjoy the desert.

Preserving all of the things that make Marana special requires thoughtful leadership, informed decision making, and a government who listens to its residents.

Lately, I’ve seen our town face decisions that carry far too many risks and unknowns, from massive data center rezoning, to complex infrastructure projects. While growth is a sign of a healthy town, it must be smart growth.

My career in cybersecurity, data science, and economics has taught me that if a deal looks too good to be true on paper, the residents are usually the ones left holding the bill.

I’m running because I believe our Council needs a member who can peel back the layers of a financial proposal, ask the hard questions about our power and water, and prioritize the families who already call Marana home.
